About the Program

Pool owners and professionals know that single-speed pool pumps are a household’s major energy expense. With more people looking for simple ways to reduce energy use, pool owners need to look no further than their pump. Replacing a single-speed pump with a variable speed pump can reduce energy use dramatically. Owners will also have a quieter, more efficient pump; a cleaner, healthier pool; and save money on their energy bills each month.

Rebates

To help pool professionals install variable-speed pool pumps, PG&E and Pentair Water Pool and Spa are offering additional installer rebates on the IntelliFlo® VF, IntelliFlo® VS-3050, IntelliPro® VS-3050 and IntelliFlo® VS+SVRS pool pumps.

Steps to Participate

All pool professionals are invited to become qualified with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and Pentair to receive rebates on energy-efficient pool pumps.

In order to be eligible, the pool pump needs to be installed for pool filtration purposes for an electric customer of PG&E. Each rebate application will be reviewed by PG&E to ensure it's in compliance with the program guidelines which are summarized in the 2010 Energy Rebate Program Overview (pdf) document.

Qualifying for Rebates

1. Attend a training session to be a qualified installer. The training includes:
   • Current local regulations and requirements relative to pool pumps
   • All active rebate programs from local utility companies
   • Eligibility to participate in the Exclusive Pool Pump and Motor Rebate Program
     In order to become a qualified installer, at least one authorized representative of your company must attend a technical training session. Contact your local Pentair Water Pool and Spa sales representative for training information.
2. Submit a completed Training Verification Form and Letter of Agreement to an authorized Pentair trainer at the session.
3. Once you have submitted both the Letter of Agreement and Training Verification Form, you will receive an e-mail that will allow you to log in to the Program Website.
4. Since the Title 20 standard for pool pumps has come in to effect, two-speed pumps will not be eligible for residential rebates.

Claiming Rebates

1. Download and print the hard-copy Installation Report form. We suggest you make several copies for future use.
2. Bring a blank hard-copy form and complete at installation site. NOTE: All information must be completed and the Installation Report must be signed by the customer to qualify for rebates.
3. Submit the completed Installation Report for each pump installed:
• Submit your Installation Report online. Log-in, open an online Installation Report and input the information from your completed hard-copy form to the online form.

• Because the pool owner’s signature is required, please fax or mail your original hard-copy Installation Report to 1-866-792-4833, ATTN: PG&E/Pentair Pool Pump Program. Please write the confirmation number from your online submission on the top of the fax.

Already a qualified installer? Log in to submit an Installation Report. If you are a new installer and have sent in your Letter of Agreement and Training Verification Form, you will receive an e-mail with your login and password.
